Should my family go on a cruise or a trip to Club Med?

dancerlaur asked:

I’m thinking of bringing my family on a big summer vacation. I’ll be going with 2 teenagers, and one of them is fairly shy. I’m also travling with 2 adults who aren’t the most adventurous. Which one? Royal Carribean Cruise or Club Med?

I’ve done both [not on Royal Caribbean, though]. It depends on what you’re looking for. In some ways, they’re comparable vacations – unpack once, food is included, beautiful facilities with lots of activities.

With CM you stay in once place, can just relax, no pressure to “go see the sights” in a port. On a cruise, you get to unpack once but see several different areas with different type of activities.

With teenagers, I’d go with the cruise, definitely. You might want to check out some books about cruising at your library, to get an idea of what’s involved.

Whatever you do, have a great time!

I recommend the Cruise. The service on-board a ship is far better and you get to see a number of ports.

I’ve been to both. And for families, especially teenagers, Club Med has it all.
Lots of space without being crowded, no fighting for lounge chairs at the beach or pool and GREAT kids programs.
Also, great food, activities and service. And best of all, you don’t have to keep going for your wallet because everything’s included in the price.
