The Best vacation for a family?

Leaf asked:

Family of 5 ( 2 teenagers and one toddler)
We need a vacation besides an island because the kids get restless on the beach and want to do activities. Perhaps something along the line of parasailing or ATV. (Note that mother nd toddler would not do everything)
Maybe a cruise?
We need a vacation with lots of activites to keep the kids goin and to prevent them from getting bored. Any suggestions?
We have gone to Disneyworld multiple times (5 or more) so that is not an option. Also, we live in NJ so we have also been to NYC a lot.

    Montgenevre in France, OF COURSE.

This place is awesome, with lots of activities
    – horse-riding.
    – canoeing.
    – sight-seeing.
    – hiking.
    – swimming

    and more!

The people there are friendly, it’s small and not touristy and one of the safest places.
I sound like an advertiser rofl. Im not…I just think its FAB.

Perhaps NYC? There’s plenty to do there and it’s easy to find things that will appeal to both your teens and your toddler. Statue of Liberty (the toddler will LOVE the boat ride); Battery Park; Empire State Building; Central Park; American Museum of Natural History; Yankees games, etc.

    Edit

Well, in view of your edit and additional information, I suggest you explore another country. Try France. It is very tourist friendly. You would be giving your kids a great informal educational opportunity by opening their eyes to a European country with all its history.

I recommend the Languedoc-Roussillon, very near Spain, close to the Pyrenees Mountains and the Mediterranean beaches. The Cathar history is so rich. Carcassonne and Toulouse are very interesting. You go from one little medieval village to another, lots of interesting caves to explore, lots of hikes, the canal. The food is great and cheap, as are the local wines (Languedoc labels). The people are friendly and relaxed. It’s a great place and extremely child friendly.

You would fly to Paris, Charles de Gaulle airport, then fly to Toulouse and rent a car. Gas is cheap if you rent a diesel vehicle.

Kids who travel grow into very competent world citizens because intercontinental travel is very broadening. For example, did you know the American Statue of Liberty was made in France and there is a smaller version in Paris?

Instead of vacationing with ATVs (big toys) get passports and go traveling. Feel free to contact me if you are contemplating a trip to France and I will happily give you some concrete suggestions for reasonable accommodation.

Alright, Vacation for kids, I’m a travel agent and for you i would suggest a trip too Orlando, FL and the for a cruise around the Bahamas. In Orlando you can visit all the great theme parks! Your kids can never get bored, the toddler or the teens. This can take you about 8 – 10 days to have a good look around. After this you can do the cruise around the Bahamas. This is Super Cheap and Super Exciting! Depending who you cruise with there is usually activities and entertainment for the kids on board. Have a great time!

Personally I think a cruise is the way to go. They provide activities for all ages and you’ll find things that everyone likes to do together, but also things that will entertain your kids so you can enjoy some adult time too. Even your 2 year old will have a blast with the child center there. You just have to worry about one price, and then meals and hotel are covered and you won’t have to worry about that. Plus, there are so many eating options on cruises that everyone will find things they like. Cruises are a great way for a family to spend a vacation together, but also find time and activities to do things individually too. That’s the way to go!
